The Right Property Decision Starts with the Right Advice

Sophie Gamborg Global Property is built on more than two decades of experience across the London and Cape Town property markets.

From prime residential property in London to advising international buyers in South Africa, Sophie’s career has been shaped by exceptional homes, sophisticated clients and the importance of having experienced advice on the buyer’s side.

After relocating back to Cape Town in 2021, Sophie saw a clear gap in the market: buyers were often navigating one of their largest investments without the independent representation and strategic advice that had long been established in London.

SGGP was created to change that.

Today, the business represents private clients, families and investors looking to acquire property in Cape Town and the surrounding areas, combining local access with international standards of advice, discretion and execution.

Our story

Sophie Gamborg, Founder

Sophie began her career in high end property in London in 2006, with early experience at Savills giving her an introduction to some of the UK’s most exceptional homes, including a Georgian country estate being sold by a member of the Royal Family.

She later joined Aylesford International in Chelsea, working across the prime London market before transferring to its Cape Town office in 2008. That first move to South Africa gave her an early understanding of the Cape Town market and, importantly, the very different way property is transacted between the UK and South Africa.

On returning to London, Sophie joined Savills, where she spent a number of years working in residential development and high value London property, advising both domestic and international buyers. Her work also included a secondment to Capital & Counties, now Shaftesbury Capital, and presenting London property to investors in South Africa.

In 2021, Sophie returned to Cape Town while still working with Savills. Experiencing the market again, this time from the perspective of someone relocating internationally, reinforced something she had seen throughout her career: while buyers had access to excellent selling agents, there was very little independent representation sitting solely on their side of the transaction.

That became the foundation for Sophie Gamborg Global Property.

Today, Sophie and her team advise buyers across residential acquisitions, relocation and investment opportunities, bringing together deep local relationships, international experience and a trusted network of legal, tax, foreign exchange, immigration and property specialists.

The principle remains simple: SGGP represents the buyer.

Claudia Lee, Advisor

A woman with long, wavy brown hair wearing a black blazer and black pants, standing inside near a glass door with a blurred outdoor background.

Claudia joined Sophie Gamborg Global Property as the advisory has grown.

Originally from the UK, she spent several years at Knight Frank in London before making the move to Cape Town herself, so she understands the leap from the inside.

Her own relocation gives her a natural connection with a growing part of the client base: younger professionals, couples and investors drawn to Cape Town for the lifestyle rather than a family relocation. She knows what it is to weigh up a new city, choose a first base from a distance, and build a life somewhere new.

Claudia brings range to the advisory and a fresh perspective on the neighbourhoods and rhythm of the city, while the advisory itself remains led by Sophie.

Bridget Lamont, Operations

A group of women gathered around a wooden table in a bright room, engaging in a conversation. One woman standing, wearing a white blazer, is smiling and talking to the seated women, one in a red patterned blouse and another in a white tank top. The table has a silver laptop, a notebook, and a coffee cup.

Bridget is the person who holds everything together. Where Sophie leads the advisory and Claudia adds range, Bridget makes sure every part of the process runs smoothly behind the scenes, so nothing is ever missed and no detail slips through. She keeps the team moving, the timings on track and the whole experience feeling calm and considered for every client.

Originally from Cape Town, she brings something the others value enormously: a lifetime of local knowledge. She knows the city street by street, area by area, and the small differences that matter when someone is deciding where to build a life. That instinct for the place, paired with her eye for detail, means clients are always in steady, capable hands.

She is often the quiet engine of the advisory, the one connecting the moving parts, anticipating what is needed next and making sure Sophie and Claudia can focus on the people they are guiding. Warm, organised and deeply rooted in Cape Town, Bridget is a reassuring presence from the first conversation onward.
